Starting a New Skincare Routine

Proper skin care is not just about looking good, it’s about staying healthy. The skin you live in is your body’s largest organ. Your skin is constantly growing and changing, that’s why it’s so important to take care of it. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day keeps skin hydrated, and a balanced diet provides the vitamins and minerals that your skin needs. So eat the rainbow! No not Skittles, but a rainbow of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. And most importantly always make sure you’re wearing sunblock every time you go outside.

When it comes to implementing a new skincare routine you need to start with the basics. It’s important to have these basics down because it’s the foundation to having and maintaining overall skin health. A daily skincare routine has three basic steps that need to be done once in the morning and once before you go to bed.

Cleansing: It’s important to use a cleanser that is right for your skin type (this is where your esthetician comes in handy!). In the morning use a milky or gel cleanser, depending on your skin type, to gently remove surface debris. In the evening use our Tu’el cleansing duo to breakdown makeup and give your skin a deep pore cleanse.

Serums: A hydrating serum is perfect for everyone and every skin type. A hydrating serum should contain hyaluronic acid which is like a glass of water for you skin that will slowly release hydration as your skin needs it through the day.

Moisturizer: Use a moisturizer/SPF in the day time and a night cream for the evening. And yes, even oily skin needs a moisturizer, just one that is oil-free or lightweight. A moisturizer/SPF to protect your skin from free radicals, sun damage and pollutants during the day. A night cream in the evening to work with your body’s natural repair process to help reach your skincare goals faster.
